‘Rani Durgavati Zoo & Rescue Center’ to be Established in Jabalpur: CM Mohan Yadav Announces on Her Martyrdom Day

Jabalpur city of Madhya Pradesh is all set to get a new wildlife facility — ‘Rani Durgavati Zoo and Rescue Center’. On the occasion of Rani Durgavati’s Martyrdom Day, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid tribute and made several key announcements in her honor. These included introducing new government schemes, curriculum updates, an international marathon, and the setup of this special wildlife center in Jabalpur.

Rani Durgavati: Not Just History, But a Living Inspiration

Speaking at the event, CM Mohan Yadav praised Rani Durgavati’s bravery, administrative skills, and water conservation efforts.

“Rani Durgavati is not just a part of history — she is a symbol of Indian woman power. Her courage and leadership continue to inspire generations,” he said.

The CM highlighted her achievements:

  • She fought 52 battles and won 51 of them.
  • She ruled over 23,000+ villages efficiently for 15 years.
  • She even defeated Mughal general Asaf Khan three times.

Big Gift to Jabalpur: New Zoo & Wildlife Rescue Center

CM Yadav announced that Jabalpur will soon have a modern ‘Rani Durgavati Zoo & Rescue Center’. This center will focus on the treatment and care of injured and sick wild animals.
Along with wildlife conservation, it will also help promote eco-tourism and education in the region.

New Scheme for Farmers: Millets to Get More Support

In memory of Rani Durgavati, the government has launched a new scheme – ‘Rani Durgavati Shree-Anna Promotion Yojana’.
Under this:

  • Minimum Support Price (MSP) of millet crops like Bajra, Kodo, and Kutki has been increased by ₹1000 per quintal, now fixed at ₹4000 per quintal.

This will benefit farmers financially and encourage more millet cultivation.
