Aravalli Jungle Safari Park — The upcoming Aravalli Jungle Safari, which is poised to become the world’s largest wildlife safari park, is set to take a major step forward. The Reliance-backed Vantara team has been given the responsibility to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the ambitious eco-tourism initiative proposed in the Aravalli hill region of Haryana.
World’s Largest Jungle Safari in the Making
The Haryana government has planned this massive safari project across 10,000 acres of land in Gurugram and Nuh districts. The idea is to develop a world-class nature-based destination that will house a wide range of wild animals, including a dedicated hospital for wildlife care. The safari will be built in four phases, with each phase covering 2,500 acres.

The Vantara team, which has already conducted one round of inspection of the site, is expected to soon begin the DPR drafting. The team may study the preliminary drawings prepared by the Haryana Forest Department, which claims the design is suitable for all types of wildlife. Enclosures measuring 50–100 acres will be built to house 4–5 animals each, creating a safe, spacious environment.
Central Ministers Conduct On-Site Review
On Saturday, Union Power Minister Manohar Lal, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, and Haryana Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh visited the proposed safari area. After a detailed inspection, the ministers expressed strong support for the project, praising the potential of the Aravalli region to host such a large-scale safari park.
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav also assured central government assistance for the development of the project, emphasizing its importance in boosting eco-tourism, protecting wildlife, and creating employment for local communities.

Why Vantara?
Haryana Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh stated that Vantara was chosen for its world-class expertise. He believes that just like the Vantara Wildlife Welfare Project in Gujarat, this new park can set global standards. “There’s no park like Vantara in the world,” he said.
Vantara, spearheaded by Anant Ambani, son of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani, is a 3,000-acre animal welfare center located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. It includes state-of-the-art facilities for animal care and houses diverse species. The Aravalli Safari will also include a modern veterinary hospital to ensure timely treatment for animals.
Strategic Location and Eco-Friendly Planning
To provide easy access, the project will have four entry gates:
- Near Sohna on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
- Tawdau-Sohna Road
- Near Naurangpur
- Near Sakatpur village
Notably, non-native species like Vilayati Babul will be completely removed from the park area. In their place, native trees and plants will be cultivated, making the park more sustainable and aligned with the natural ecosystem of Aravalli.
A Project with Multiple Benefits
Union Minister Manohar Lal stated that this safari would play a significant role in preserving Aravalli’s biodiversity, natural beauty, and historical heritage. It is expected to attract international tourists, serve as a model for eco-tourism, and spread awareness about wildlife conservation.
Above all, the safari is expected to generate significant employment opportunities for local residents, offering a balanced mix of environmental protection and economic development.
Conclusion:
With Vantara’s expertise and government backing, the Aravalli Jungle Safari is shaping up to be not just a massive tourism venture but a landmark conservation project. If successful, it will not only boost Haryana’s tourism but also strengthen India’s position in global wildlife and eco-tourism initiatives.
